Filed in: trainingFormal, what is formal? Formal attire normally refers to eveningwear, or clothing worn for formal occasions.
Black tie: Formal occasion, males should wear tuxedoes; females are expected to wear evening gowns, cocktail dresses or dressy evening separates.
White tie: Ultra formal. Males should be in all white tuxedoes; females should be in floor length evening gowns.
Formal dress: Normally means the same thing as Black tie. However, for males black dress pants and a black shirt without a tie are acceptable; and for females an appropriate cocktail dress or dressy evening separates will do quite nicely.
Cocktail attire: Short elegant dresses for females, and suits for males. Dark suits are considered more appropriate if the affair is after 6pm.
While most slaves do not think about the necessity of formal wear or think they will ever need to know how to present at a formal occasion, a slave should be prepared for anything. Some Owners like to have a ready and appropriate companion if the should arise. Why worry about getting a date when you have a perfectly good slave sitting at home waiting for your command. Hence if the slave is trained appropriately, he or she may be allowed the privilege of accompanying the Owner on special occasions.
It should be noted that with formal attire, personal grooming is absolute. While some Owners prefer their females to wear makeup and have their hair and nails done, others prefer their females to be less ostentatious. Also some Owners prefer their males to be clean- shaven for formal occasions, others do not mind facial hair. Hence, a slave should never assume the specifications desired by the Owner without clarification. It is always an appropriate choice to ask the Owners opinion prior to making a mistake that may cause unfortunate delays or ruin the evening totally.
